Haley Lent, 22, and Robyn Gedrich, 23, both received notifications from Tinder that their accounts were suspended after numerous reports. In case you’re wondering, it’s not an automatic ban but a result of many users simply not being okay with this behavior. After all, when you’re trying to talk to a girl and all she can go on about is how much she loves another man, it’s kind of a deal-breaker.
Gedrich’s conversations were always right down to business. In a Twitter message to Reuters, she revealed her most common opening on the dating platform: “Do you feel the bern?” mimicking a Sanders campaign slogan. “Please text WORK to 82623 for me. Thanks.”
Lent, on the other hand, was a bit more conversational: “I would ask them if they were going to vote in their upcoming primaries,” she said to Reuters. “If they said no or were on the fence, I would try to talk to them and persuade them to vote.”
Gedrich and Lent certainly felt the burn themselves after being issued their suspensions from the service and they’ve served as a valuable warning for the rest of us: let Tinder remain the wholesome and carefree place it is; where people can hook up without the fear of political nonsense to get in their way.
