Former congressman Darrell Issa told Bold TV you don’t need to outrun a bear, you just need to outrun another person — and it’s the same for the economy.
“There’s an old story about two men walking along and they see a bear … [one man] said ‘You can’t outrun a bear.’ [The other man] said ‘I don’t have to outrun a bear; I have to outrun you.’ The fact is the Trump economy is outrunning the rest of the world,” said Issa, who is a nominee for director of the United States Trade and Development Agency. “So we’re not just earning the growth of a better policy, but we’re also earning the investment from around the world of a better place to invest.”
Bold TV’s David Grasso caught up with Issa at Anthony Scaramucci’s SALT Conference and asked him why he thinks the economy has grown so much in recent years. Issa said “tangible changes in regulations” and “strategic changes in tax code” are making America more competitive, and making it a better place to invest.
We also spoke with Issa about the number of opportunities in the U.S. for young people today. The entrepreneur and former CEO said it’s “never been better” because the country is “reinvesting in core industries” and offers opportunities in “low capital virtual technologies.” He said someone with a good idea has access to capital and can use the internet to gain customers and distribution faster than ever before.
