Are you ready to start traveling again? Many of us are, but we don’t know if it’s safe for us or the people in the area that we’re visiting. If you have tested negative for COVID-19, you aren’t putting others at risk by venturing beyond your home, but what about the destination? Will there be anything to do, and will you have to quarantine? Peter Wells, CEO of DragonSlayer Travel, shares his app that lets us know the best places to travel right now.
The state of the travel industry
Travel is a huge part of the world economy. Many countries rely heavily on tourist dollars to keep them running. Because of the pandemic, these governments had to go against their instincts and shut people out for months on end. Now, many of them are up and running but aren’t seeing as much revenue as in previous years. Here in the United States, there are massive layoffs in the airline and hospitality industries, and without financial relief, no one knows how long recovery will take. Despite areas opening up, the chance of spread is keeping a majority of consumers in their homes. Maybe a little insight into where we’re traveling is just what we need to feel comfortable again.
This is where you are allowed to go
A U.S. passport used to take you anywhere, but now our options are limited. Thankfully, a lot of those coveted vacation spots handled the virus very well, so there’s little danger upon arrival, and if you are negative, you could get a little rest by the beach. We don’t have as many choices as before, but there are still 27 countries that will accept U.S. travelers without requiring a quarantine including St. Lucia, Croatia, Aruba and Bermuda. If you could really use some stress relief, consider using Wells’ app to find the right spot for you and boost a nation’s economy with your tourist dollars.
