Top 5 Bold Business Guests of 2020: Their Advice Is Priceless

Our weekly show, Bold Business, features entrepreneurs, thought leaders and experts from every field you can think of. We have featured big names as well as the underrepresented. They all have offered us wisdom, motivation and empowering advice. Here is a collection of some of our best Bold Business interviews in 2020. We hope to bring you even more in the new year!

1. Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square and author of “The Innovation Stack”

Jim McKelvey is a billionaire philanthropist, glassblower and, of course, co-founder of Square. Square is the pioneer in contactless payment, which was a necessity in 2020. That tiny square device probably saved hundreds of businesses during the pandemic. McKelvey joined us early in the year to talk about how he came up with the idea for Square, battling tech giants such as Amazon, and to give us a little motivation to lean into our innovative ideas. 2. Renee King, CEO and founder of Fund Black Founders 

One of the most important conversations this year on Bold TV and in the world was the lack of funding and support that Black business owners receive. Renee King broke down why Black entrepreneurs are so important. They are solving problems that affect the Black community that is often overlooked. She also explained the challenges that these founders faced, and how crowdfunding platforms such as her own make a difference in the lives of these entrepreneurs and their communities. 3. Kevin Harrington and Mark Timm, co-authors of “Mentor to Millions”

Kevin Harrington is, of course, the inventor of the infomercial and a former “Shark Tank” shark. He mentors entrepreneur Mark Timm, and they joined forces to share the importance of mentorship. Many entrepreneurs swear by the mentor/mentee relationship, but it can be scary to ask for help. Harrington tells you how to build up the courage to ask, and Timm shares how having Harrington as a mentor enhanced his life! Click here to watch.

4. Mark Matson, founder and CEO of Matson Money 

There were a few hot IPO drops this year that caught the attention and wallets of many Millennials and Gen-Zers. Mark Matson is a well-known investment advisor, and he drove home the importance of investing and why young people should do it early in life. Of course, he also advised caution when it comes to investment apps that could encourage the “gamification” of investing and potentially cause young people to lose a lot of money. 5. Robert Rosenberg, former CEO of Dunkin’ Donuts

America may run on Dunkin’, but our final top interview of the year ran Dunkin’ for 35 years! Robert Rosenberg shared tips for expanding a business beyond belief, and his predictions for the retail space now that many purchases are made online. Click here to watch.
