Speaking on Bold Business, experienced investor Whitney Tilson talked about his new business, Kase Learning, a company devoted to “teaching and mentoring the next generation of investors.” When it comes to investing, Tilson says that success in long-term investment is not just about “picking great stocks,” it is also a “function of not getting hammered during a downturn.” According to Tilson, there are “an awful lot of people out there that have learned a lot of wrong lessons from the last nine years which is buy every dip and take on risks.” While this works in today’s market, a bull market where share prices continue to rise, Tilson believes that the next generation should “look to build your skill set and recognize there will be times when it’s hard.”
