Veteran Journalist Marvin Kalb on Press in the Trump Era
Marvin Kalb, award-winning CBS News and NBC journalist and author, joined Bold TV to discuss his new book, “Enemy of the People.” Kalb, a veteran of news whose career spans more than 30 years, explained how he thinks rhetoric often used by President Donald Trump about the media “undercuts the democracy.”

He said the expression “enemy of the people” dates back to the 20th century. “It’s a phrase used by some of the worst people dictators not the leader of a democratic country,” Kalb said.

Kalb also emphasized that “the press is not the enemy, but instead the very foundation of American democracy.”
