How to Master Your Inner Mean Girl

Ladies, who cares about your haters when you’re already your own worst critic? Every woman has a negative voice inside their head that says they’re not good enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, and much more. This voice belongs to women’s “inner mean girl,” and it’s why Melissa Ambrosini wrote Mastering Your Mean Girl. Her book helps women recognize this fear-based voice and overcome it. She visits Bold TV and shows Julia and Maria how to find their inner mean girl and kick her out.

How to Cast Aside the Inner Mean Girl

Many women find it difficult to overcome their inner critic because they are accustomed to letting it go unaddressed. Women have between 60,000 and 80,000 thoughts a day, so the task of conquering thoughts can be daunting. Mastering Your Mean Girl includes the “cast process,” a four-step strategy for casting aside the inner critic so your real self can shine. First, create a character for your inner critic. What does she look like? What’s her name? Next, become aware of the phrases your inner critic uses to get you down. Then, shut the door on that character. Finally, remind yourself of the truth about you.

Overcoming the Inner Critic is For Everyone

Ambrosini used to let her inner mean girl run her life, and it left her life crumbling in many areas. After she learned to take the wheel from that voice, she decided to write her book and let other women know how to overcome it. While Ambrosini geared her book toward women, men can use the cast process. Many men have been trained to guard their thoughts and feelings, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have an inner mean girl, too! Everyone can benefit from taking back control of their mind.
