3 High-Profile Bosses Who Didn’t Graduate from College

College is all fun and games until a) you’re drowning in debt, b) you can’t find a job or c) other various letdowns. Secondary education is the perfect path for some people, such as doctors and lawyers. But the truth is that college isn’t the only way to success. Host Philip Michael discusses three mega-entrepreneurs who didn’t graduate from college.

Three legends who didn’t graduate from college

  1. Steve Jobs. The famous founder of Apple dropped out of college because of financial struggles. So, he and his co-founder Steve Wozniak built the Apple empire from his parents’ garage. College wasn’t a total waste, though, as he credits his calligraphy course for helping him choose the typeface for the MacBook.
  2. Bill Gates. The founder of Microsoft was a Harvard guy for two years. But he chose his entrepreneurial plans over two more years of studies. Now, Microsoft is the world’s largest software company, and Gates is the second wealthiest person in the world.
  3. John Mackey The founder and CEO of Whole Foods dropped out of the University of Texas where he studied religion and philosophy. He borrowed $45,000 to build a health food store called Safeway in downtown Austin. This small venture grew into the multinational supermarket chain we know today.

Another option is blue-collar

Being an entrepreneur isn’t the only way to successfully skip college. Many people make their living in the blue-collar field. If you’d rather work with your hands than graduate from college, there are options. We can’t all be Bill Gates, but we have our own unique journey ahead. Check this out for some awesome blue-collar job options.
