Is Inflation Killing Dating? Find Out Why!

The nation is in an economic crisis, and the American people are pointing the finger at the government. Additionally, according to a Morning Consult-Politico poll and CNN Poll, American voters overwhelmingly believe the country is in a recession. So what does this mean for our 2022 election and our future?

Is the US economy in a recession?

Is the US in a recession? In the Morning Consult-Politico poll, two-thirds of voters say yes. And for the 16th consecutive week, more than 60% of respondents believe that the American economy is in a recession.

In a CNN Poll, “75% of Americans say that the economy is in a recession, up from 64% who felt that way this summer. Majorities across party lines see the economy as already in recession, including 91% of Republicans, 74% of independents, and 61% of Democrats. A majority overall (55%) say they are dissatisfied with their own personal financial situation, up from 47% who felt that way this spring.” American concerns about the economy grow in the face of inflation.

America’s Top Priorities: The Economy and Inflation

What’s important to voters? According to the Morning Consult-Politico poll, most Americans believe the economy is more important than abortion, health care, and education.

Why is that? According to the CNN Poll, “Nearly three-quarters of Americans (74%, including 72% of likely voters) say things in the country are going badly today.”

CNN reports: “The economy and inflation are far and away the top issue for likely voters in this final stretch, with about half of all likely voters (51%) saying those will be the key issue determining their vote for Congress this year.” Abortion was the second-most important issue for 15% of voters. Additionally, other issues tested include voting rights, gun policy, immigration, climate change, and crime.

From the two polls, economic concerns top the list of voter issues in the final stretch.

Who Will Win The US Senate?

The future of the US Congress could hinge on these four swing states: Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.  Also, Politico reports: “The parties are deadlocked in Georgia and Nevada. Democrats have slight leads in Arizona and Pennsylvania.”

The Cook Political Report predicts a 50-50 Senate is the Democrats’ best-case scenario. Additionally Georgia Senate polls suggest a December runoff is likely since the Democratic or Republican candidate may not reach the 50 percent threshold.
