When they say you can buy anything on the internet, boy do they mean it. A talking Vladimir Putin butt plug NFT is available for auction on Rarible. 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to WithUkraine; a charity set up by the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK. Oh, and the winner of the auction also gets a 10cm 3D-printed replica of the NFT.

Putin’s invading new territory

The latest in adult NFTs, “The Vladimir Put-in Talking Butt Plug” is certainly a head-turner. It’s “a peaceful NFT protest” to support Ukraine, according to the creator. The auction is set to end Monday, March 14. The current highest bid is 0.05 wETH (wrapped Ethereum); about $130 United Stated Dollars.

Though, the talking Putin Butt Plug is just a small, small portion of the support for Ukraine’s struggle with cryptocurrency. As of publication, over $54 million in crypto has been donated to support the country under siege, according to CNBC. Ukraine’s official Twitter account solicited crypto donations to aid their struggle on Feb. 26, just two days after Russia began the invasion.

Making light of a serious situation

Though it’s hard to say “Talking Vladimir Putin Butt Plug NFT” with a straight face, war is no joke. According to CNN, over 400 Ukrainian civilians have been killed, and more than 800 injured. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said the figures are most likely much higher than what is projected.

“We take this topic very seriously and are deeply saddened and disturbed by the events taking place,” reads a disclaimer on the NFT’s Rarible page. “We want to make clear that our aim is not to make light of the situation – but in these dark times spread a message of defiance against oppression, and fundraise financial aid to those who need it.
