Can You Hear Me Now? Verizon Reaches Deal to End 45-Day Strike

Verizon Communications Inc. in New York has finally agreed on a deal with Communications Workers of America. Verizon is ending the 45 day strike by agreeing to “add new jobs, give raises and take back some of the proposed cuts to benefits,” according to New York City Wired.

Marc Reed, Verizon’s chief administrative officer, expressed the company’s relief to put an end to the strike:

“The tentative agreements reached today are good for our employees, good for our customers and will be good for our business.”

Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton both supported and encouraged the strike and commended participants for standing up for demands.
