Whether you’re shopping for “the man who has everything” or the man who “needs everything” this Christmas, clothing usually makes a great gift. Winter’s coming, and with it comes the quest for find clothing that’s both utilitarian and aesthetically pleasing.
Here’s some outer wear gift ideas that will keep the man in your life both warm and warmly received.
Scarves
The scarf is to outdoor winter wear what the tie is to a suit; a centrally placed, eye-catching accessory. Since the beginning of the millennium Burberry has been amongst the best in the business. The brand kind of peaked in popularity around 2002, when the hip-hop community fully embraced it, but it’s fallen off a bit since. This holiday season, they’re promoting a provocative celebrity based ad campaign.
Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whitely wears nothing but a Burberry scarf in a risqué promo that’s impossible to forget. I’ll never complain about getting to see a scantily clad RHW, as I enjoy this ad as much as any other red-blooded American male, but a publicity grab such as this seems a bit beneath the London based luxury line. A well established fashion house such as Burberry shouldn’t need to push the envelope this hard, but who is complaining, I am here to talk about fashion.
Anyway, this charcoal offering found on Amazon is paradigmatic of the British clothier’s signature plaid design Burberry Men’s Charcoal Gray Mega Check 100% Cashmere Scarf.
Denim jeans
Unless you live in California, Arizona, Texas or Florida, you’re likely not going to be wearing shorts for awhile, so it’s time to stock up on jeans Can’t go wrong with Levi’s, who literally invented what is today the most popular form of clothing, way back in 1873.
Levi’s offers a variety of denim available at Zappos.com you can choose from different styles and colors. But for your significant other who craves luxury designer brands, we suggest Phillip Plien or Prada denim jeans.
Outdoor and/or Workout Gear
What you’re wearing is important but making sure it still fits after all the holiday parties is equally essential? Especially so if somebody is giving you skinny jeans this Christmas! The holidays prelude New Year’s resolution season, and that’s when gyms are at their most crowded. Want to avoid the congestion and get your workout in outdoors?
Nike has you covered with an extensive line featured in the highly publicized #GetOutHere campaign. If the famous “Snow Day” spot doesn’t motivate you to stay active as the mercury drops, I’m not sure what will.
Like Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman said, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only soft people.”
For the Football Fan
Like Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Costas said regarding the NFL: “It’s not just a sports juggernaut, it’s a cultural juggernaut, and at a time when our tastes are all in niches, football brings all the demographics together under one net.”
Yes, the NFL is America’s game and the playoffs begin right after the holidays conclude. Be sure to check out NFL apparel’s fresh fashion take on fandom—style for game day and beyond.

You mention jeans. I often get confused with the many versions available. Which ones are in? I had never really even heard of skinny jeans until I tried a random pair. That was interesting but not sure if appropriate

Agreed, we are not great fans of men wearing skinny jeans. The top brands right now are Levi 501 Jeans, Robins Jeans, Diesel , Lucky Brand, & True Religion. These designers understand the concept of fit and durability and more importantly they are in- and would make addition to your closet.
