WATCH: Trump Diversity Committeewoman to Clay Aiken: Charlottesville KKK Worse Than Counter-Protest

Charlottesville

In a heated exchange on Bold TV, co-host Clay Aiken pressed Stephanie Hamill, an adviser for The National Diversity Coalition for Trump, to agree that KKK supporters and white supremacists in the Charlottesville, Va., protests were worse than the counter-protesters.

Aiken said he thinks there are two kinds of racism, overt racism which is, “I don’t like black people. I don’t like Latinos, I don’t like Asians, etc.” And there is the racism of indifference, which Aiken suggested is prevalent in southern white Americans. Aiken, a North Carolina native who ran for Congress in his home district, said he believes southern white Americans feel they have bestowed upon black people and minorities the rights they currently have.

Aiken and Hamill, a Latina, shared a passionate exchange over the Charlottesville incident:

Aiken: Did it not bother you at all that the president was not able or willing to acknowledge that the violence in Charlottesville…that was perpetrated by those members of the rallies that were specifically there to advocate for racism was worse than anything that might have been done by protestors who were there on the other side.

Hamill: Well, he condemned both sides.

Aiken: I didn’t ask you that question. I asked you if you thought it was not worse what one side was doing than what another side was doing.

Hamill: Both sides…

Aiken: I asked you, yes or no, is the racism of those people there fighting and rallying on the behalf of the KKK and Neo-Nazi groups, was their position more untenable than those who were there fighting against them?

Hamill: It’s absolutely disgusting anyone racist or…

Aiken: Yes or No. Was that side worse than the other side.

Hamill: I think that there were issues on both sides. I’ve been tracking Antifa for a long time.

Aiken: OK. I appreciate what you’re trying to do and we’re gonna move on because I don’t want to get too heated. But the bottom line is, this is specifically why people have an issue with this. And I don’t want to get down a rabbit hole, because it does get me heated. And I appreciate your position of trying and needing to support the president and your boss, but the reason people have an issue with this is because it specifically…all I want from anyone is yes or no, the KKK is worse than those who fight against the KKK.

Hamill: And I’d love for the left to actually condemn Antifa.

Aiken: I’ll condemn Antifa. I’ll condemn the words of Louis Farrakhan, I’ll do all of that right now. Yes or no. Is the KKK worse than those people who are fighting against the KKK?

Hamill:. So, yeah, of course. There.

Aiken: Thank you.
