With New Jersey and New York recently legalizing pot, many people wonder how this could be a game-changer in how marijuana is sold. New York definitely has a pivotal influence on the rest of the country. Could all of this become a big template on how other states could handle the weed market? Philip Michael from Bold TV sat down with Nick Kovacevich, the CEO of KUSH Co. Holdings, to discuss the future of legalized marijuana.
States are legalizing weed.
A lot of other states have jumped on the bandwagon. Kovacevich said that “it’s only a matter of time until the federal government starts legalizing it as well.” Although it doesn’t seem to be aligning with the current president’s administration, Sen. Chuck Schumer is pushing for legalization. Since other lawmakers and state senators are getting involved, we may see marijuana finally being legalized for good.
New opportunities for entrepreneurs
With all of this going on, we will see jobs flowing into the market. Kovacevich sees about 60,000 new jobs coming in, and that’s a pretty big deal considering that would help the U.S. economy.
What do you think? Will the cannabis industry be a potential opportunity for growth in the U.S.?
