Chris Valletta is the co-founder of MISSION, a company that is developing gaiter scarves to give people a comfortable and effective alternative to masks. He co-founded this company with big-name athletes such as Drew Brees, the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, Serena Williams, a world-renowned tennis player, and Dwayne Wade, former shooting guard for the Miami Heat. Gaiters came under fire after an exploratory study that deemed them unfit to protect you during the pandemic. The CDC recently rolled back its claim and has decided that a double-lined gaiter is an effective way to protect yourself and others from getting infected.
Donating to our country’s youth
Valletta and his MISSION co-founder Brees are teaming up with the YMCA to donate $1 million worth of gaiters to our country’s youth. Valletta talks about the type of work that MISSION is doing to promote youth sports and support them during these trying times. By giving them access to gaiter scarves, children will be able to have an easy, comfortable and dependable way to protect themselves from the pandemic. Gaiter scarves are great for kids because they can wear them around their necks, which lowers the chance that they have of losing them while they are running around.
A year of creative solutions
We want to inspire our youth to be active and participate in sports no matter the circumstance. 2020 has been a year to find creative solutions. With a double-lined gaiter scarf, you can make sure your children can stay active and healthy through the winter months. Valletta and his co-founders have worked tirelessly to support the efforts of the YMCA during the pandemic.
