Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) introduced the “Child Rearing and Development Leave Empowerment” Act, also known as “CRADLE.” The CRADLE Act allows workers to access some of their Social Security retirement benefits in advance to make up for some of the wages they would lose when taking parental leave.
