Bold TV is joined by Stephen Gutosky, a contributor at Opportunity Lives to discuss a veterans’ group coming together to fundraise and help the homeless.

The Travis Manion Foundation raised $24,000 in only 24 hours to build a home for a poor family in Guatemala. Read more about this wonderful cause and fundraising here.

“Families of fallen military members will join together in the underserved region of San Raimundo, Guatemala, to build a home for a family that has never owned one,” said Derrick Morgan, the director of marketing at TMF.

Gutosky tells about this wonderful organization that focuses on recovery and healing through helping others. TMF empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.

The Travis Manion Foundation was created to honor Marine first lieutenant Travis Manion, who was killed in Iraq in 2007 while saving his wounded teammates.

“By including veterans in its charity work, the foundation believes it is fulfilling that mission and building a culture that lives up to Manion’s sacrifice,” says Gutosky.

According to their website:

“Today, Travis’ legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, ‘If Not Me, Then Who…’ Guided by this mantra, veterans continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes live on in the next generation.”

Gutosky covered the event for Opportunity Lives and told us all about this awesome event.
