It’s no secret that the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla has had his eye on the crypto market for a while. Elon Musk played a huge role when Dogecoin shot to the moon in early 2021. His tweets endorsing the digital currency popularized the meme coin to the point that it hit 72 cents.
Though Musk opted not to join Twitter’s Board of Directors after purchasing a controlling share in the company, he’s at it again. Musk suggested that Twitter Blue, the platform’s premium subscription service, should allow users to pay with Doge. But the Elon Musk and crypto relationship is deeper than just tweets.
Elon Musk loves to meme about crypto
In 2022 it’s not too surprising that funny tweets get the attention of a lot of people. Musk is no stranger to posting memes on Twitter. It was his memes about Dogecoin in early 2021 that blew it up. But in reality, Musk had worked with the developers of Dogecoin for a few years to improve their blockchain. In fact, his mere presence as the newest member of the Twitter board of directors caused Dogecoin to jump nearly 11 percent in value.
But Musk’s influence over the crypto market goes beyond his tweets about Dogecoin. They say life imitates art, but in this case, crypto imitates Musk.
Floki Inu Coin
The only issue? You could buy the coin, but you couldn’t sell it. Scammers took advantage of Musk’s influence and pulled the rug out from under Floki Inu buyers. Including the co-found of Tripsters NFTs, Jayson Winer.
So. yes, Elon Musk and crypto go way back. And it seems like he’s advocating for them to have a long future together as well.
