Small businesses usually have only about 10 to 20 employees on their staff. That means that these employees are likely involved with more than one area of the business. The companies try to do more with fewer resources and maximize them as best as they can. They may help with marketing on social media and also help run the storefront. You may find that you can move up quicker in a smaller business than within a corporation as you learn more skills. People who are skilled in many areas of a business have a greater chance of success.

People are attracted to small businesses for many reasons. One being when you work for a small business, you likely won’t have to deal with a lot of upper management. Also, some people don’t enjoy working for a boss that they don’t feel like they know very well. If you want to have a personal relationship with your boss, a smaller business can provide that for you. The culture of a workplace is important to a lot of people.
