Cybersecurity expert Bo Dietl says blockchain is the future. Bold TV’s David Grasso caught up with Dietl at Anthony Scaramucci’s SALT Conference; Dietl said, “For the future, you have this blockchain that I’m excited about. You know, we had this other stuff that fell down — Bitcoin, that went into the garbage can. But now, you’ve got blockchain, that’s exciting. That’s an area for you young people. Look into blockchain — that is the future.”
Dietl recently founded a cybersecurity firm, Advanced Cyber Security, but before that, he has had a varied career — ranging from an NYPD detective to a media personality and actor. Dietl plays himself in the 2013 movie, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and he said he’s in a new movie this fall, “The Irish Man,” along with Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.
He gave his advice to young people and said, “I was a young man and I was making a lot of money, and I was spending it — not thinking about tomorrow and eventually that money can run out. You have to prepare yourself — and you have to have drive, don’t be lazy.”
He also emphasized the importance of education, saying, “The most important thing for is young people out there: learn, learn, learn before you talk. A lot of people talk and not know what they’re talking about. Learn it and get experience in wherever you’re going, and then you can talk. And you’re never too young to be successful, strive for the stars.”
